Family members of 25-year-old Ruksara Qureshi who was found dead hanging at her apartment in Attariya of Godawarai municipality of Kailali accused her husband of murdering her on May 2.
Organizing a press conference in Nepalgunj on May 6, Ruksara's father Islam Ahmad Qureshi accused her husband of murdering her for not bringing enough dowry.
Ruksara's father stated during the press conference that her husband had been pressuring him to give him rupees three lakhs and a pulsar motorcycle as dowry. He said, his son-in-law killed her when he was preparing to fulfill the dowry demand by selling his land.
He filed a complaint of murder at District Police Office Kailali on May 3. The post-mortem of the victim's body was done at Provincial hospital in Dhangadhi.
