KATHMANDU, May 13: Students affiliated to the erstwhile Naya Shakti Nepal party’s students union pelted stones at Tribhuvan University Service Commission (TUSC) office for appointing TU personnel affiliated to the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), relatives of TU staffers and those affiliated to the main opposition party Nepali Congress to permanent posts ranging from driver to deputy administrator.

According to Bal Bahadur Ramtel, leader of the students union, they protested against “the anarchy and politicization” in employee appointments of TU. “Police arrested five students on the charge of their involvement in the protests,” said Ramtel.
