Locals of Urlabari municipality-1 who are on a strike since the past 56 days demanding the shutting of crusher industries operating illegally in the area clashed with operators of crusher industries. The clashed ensued when locals entered Pancheshwor crusher industries which tried to start operation from Friday.
According to police, Dinesh Dhakal of Urlabari-7, an employee at the crusher industry sustained an injury in the clash and is undergoing treatment at Godawari hospital. There are 2 crusher industries operating in Urlabari at the moment, while 3 others are preparing to start operation. Locals oppose the operation of crusher industries in the are saying that they cause dust and smoke pollution.
