Police arrested 20-year-old Mahesh Damai of Mahakali municipality-2 on May 30 on the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl.

Damai was arrested by the police after the complaint was filed on March 16, accusing him of raping the girl on March 12. Damai, who had been absconding for three months, was arrested when he came to his home. He was arrested by the police team deployed from the police post office. The victim's health check-up was conducted at District Hospital on 15th March.
