On 18 June, 2019, Muslim community started a hunger strike against the construction of a covered hall without leaving any vacant space in front of Reza Mustafa mosque in Butwal-8. The hunger strike started at the mosque gate from Friday demanding the separation of the parking area. The hunger strike was led by former member of parliament Haji Nazir Mia by forming a committee.
Butwal Sub-metropolis has demolished local's houses in order to construct a covered hall. Sixteen families went on hunger strike for after the demolition of the house appealing for justice.
