Kamal Dev Yadav and his wife Sita Devi Yadav, allegedly accused Jasodhia Yadav of witchcraft and physically abused her. The duo first attacked her while working at her backyard on June 20. She was again attacked and treated inhumanely on June 22. When the victim's daughter Saraswati Devi Yadav tried to protect her mother, she got severely injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. 

On July 1 the victim organized a press conference since even the police was not willing to take action against the perpetrators.
