Four people including two teachers assaulted Baburam Lamsal, the ward chairperson of Nilakantha Municiaplaity-12, on July 9 while he was surveying the road construction project. 52-year-old Yuvraj Kandel, 47-year-old Balram Rijal, 55-year-old Naniram Rijal, and 29-year-old Dipak Riajl assaulted the ward chairperson. All of them are the resident of Nilkantha Municipality-12. Yuvraj and Balram are the teachers, while Naniram is a retired teacher. They had demanded that they would not allow the use of water sources which was being used to distribute water to one hundred houses of Kudule. Lamsal has sustained injuries in the face and head from the attack. Lamsal is undergoing medical treatment at the district hospital.
Lamsal has filed the complaint at the district police office but the police have not registered the case since both the parties are on the conversation regarding the incident, said Rupak Khadka, the information officer of the district police office.
