SARLAHI, July 9: Local residents vandalized a snakebite treatment centre at Nawalpur in Sarlahi district after a toddler died in course of treatment.
Relatives and local people have accused the doctors of sheer negligence during the treatment of Sampada Budhathoki of Hariwan municipality-9 who was rushed to the centre following snakebite on Monday evening.
Tension ran high at the centre after the relatives and local residents picketed the centre and staged the protest. They also refused to receive the dead body unless an investigation into the case was launched.
However, the locals received the dead body late Monday after Chief District Officer of Sarlahi Krishna Bahadur Raut assured them to launch an investigation into the case.
