A woman in Sunsari has accused her husband of evicting her from the house by subjecting her to frequent sexual abuse and domestic violence.
According to 26-year-old Kaushilya Sharma, her husband has been frequently beating and sexually abusing her since the past one week. She said that she was forced to take refuge in her neighbour's house after her husband banished her from home on August 30. Although she reported about the violence she faced from her husband to District Police Office Sunsari on August 29, police are yet to take any action against him.
Sub-inspector Binumaya Basnet of DPO Sunsair said the victim had only lodged an oral complaint and both the parties were summoned to the police on September 1 for discussion. The victim underwent medical treatment at a local clinic in her village.
