An elderly woman was found murdered in Nawalparasi East on Tuesday night. According to the police, 70-year-old Bhumadevi Khatri of Gaidakot municipality-15 Manakamanatol was murdered by unidentified group robbers who killed her by smashing her eye during the robbery.

Bhumadevi's bloodied body was found lying in her kitchen. Preliminary police investigations revealed that, the robbers killed her during the act. Police are yet to establish exactly how much worth of valuables were robbed from her. Bhumadevi's three sons are abroad in Japan and Australia and she used to live alone in the house.

Police are further investigating the incident.
