Students Union has staged a strike on Monday in Rupani stretch of the east-west Highway labeling the advertisement from the Public Service Commission(PSC) as discriminatory.
The student leaders and cadres blocked the highway from 10 am to 11 am demanding the resignation of the chairman of public service commission, the cancellation of the advertisement and re-advertisement upholding the inclusive principles.
Kishore Kumar Yadav KC, the president of the National Students Union, has warned that the protest would continue till the commission amends the advertisement by upholding the principles of inclusiveness and proportionality.
Thousands of passengers were stranded due to obstruction of transportation service in the highway.
