Woman succumbs to injury sustained in beating

A woman who was injured after being beaten by two men during a dispute about cutting down a tree died on Friday morning.
The deceased, Tetaridevi Mahato, 53, of Goth Tole in Lahan municipality-9 had returned home after undergoing treatment for injuries she sustained in a beating from Asharam Mahato and his younger brother Sumeshwor Mahato of Lahan municipality-15 a few days ago.
The assailants went on the run following Tetaridevi's death on Friday morning. Area Police Office Lahan stated, it was investigating the incident.
