Police arrested 42-year-old Mahesh Bahadur Pal, a resident of Lekam rural municipality-4 in Darchula on the charge of attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman.

The victim had filed a complaint against Pal on October 13 at District Police Office, accusing him of attempting to rape her on October 4. Police arrested him from Gokuleshwor hospital in Shailyasikhar municipality on the basis of the complaint.

The victim underwent a medical examination at Darchula district hospital on October 14. Pal had sustained injury in a fall while attempting to rape the woman. His condition remains stable at the moment, according to police.
