Police arrested 42-year-old Ram Lama of Butwal municipality-3 on charge of murdering 66-year-old Tiki Sari Gurung of the same place. Gurung was missing since October 4, when she went to graze goats in the Aadarsha community forest. Her body was discovered in the jungle after the locals reported the incident of the missing person to the police. A piece of cloth was stuffed in her mouth and her neck was slit with a sharp weapon.
The accused has confessed to the murder. He allegedly killed the woman for a pair of golden earrings which he sold for Rs.35,000 in Jay Mata jewelry shop.
