Police have arrested 35-year-old Rudal Yadav, a permanent resident of Mahottari Rural Municipality in on the charge of attempting to rape a minor girl.
According to police, Yadav is accused of attempting to rape a 13-year-old girl on October 18 while she was heading towards jungle to collect firewood. Police arrested him on the basis of a complaint filed by the girl. The victim reported to police that, she escaped from Rudal's clutch by brandishing a sickle she was carrying with her in self defense. She also reported that Rudal attacked her mother with a stick injuring her, before trying to rape her.
District Police Chief SP Shyam Krishna Adhikari said, police are further investigating into the incident by holding the accused into custody.
