Thousands of consumers, at the call of Community Forest Consumer's Federation,  protested against triple taxation in Gulariya, the district headquarters in Bardiya.

According to Sharma Chowdhury, the Chairman of the executive committee of the  Community Forestry Consumers Federation Bardiya, they protested after the federal government has come forward with a draft to collect tax up to 90 percent of total income from the sale of forest produce from the federal, provincial and local level.
