Protests in response to arrest of Ex-Minister Rup Jyoti

A demonstration has been staged in Kathmandu protesting the arrest of entrepreneur cum ex-minister Rup Jyoti. The protesters demanded the immediate release of the ex-minister and claimed that the arrest was done on pressure.
Earlier, the police had arrested Jyoti from Tribhuwan International Airport in connection with a charge of fraud allegations filed against him. The court permitted a three-day remand.
