Province 1, Bhojpur, Bhojpur
Police have arrested 3 persons who protested against the American Millenium Challenge Corporation in Bhojpur. The arrested have been identified as Bhim Rai, Bidur Rai, and Nagendra Tamang of Bhojpur Municipality.
Police first attempted to arrest them from Deurali Chowk of Bhojpur on January 16 where they were staging a protest. But they failed to arrest them after locals obstructed the police. Police later arrested the 3 from their home.
Locals had requested DSP Nara Bahadur Salami Magar of District Police Office Bhojpur to allow peaceful demonstration, but DSP ordered the arrest of the 3 saying those who oppose MCC should be arrested.
