Mugu, jyan muddha darta garna asvikaar gare andolan garne chetavani. Police have refused to register a complaint filed by family one Mohan Kumar Shahi claiming he was murdered. Body of Shahi, a resident of Bhi VDC-4, was found on January 20 at Khadikhelna daha in Karnali river. His whereabouts were unknown since December 8. The political parties in the district have warned of staging protests stating that police refused to register the case claimed as murder by his family. Police post in Sreenagar VDC had held him following a scuffle when he had gone there for a work. Father of the deceased had tried to register the case against police head constable Balram Giri, constable Hari Prasad Joshi, Sital Bhandari and other five locals. However, the District Police Office Mugu refused registering the case stating that the scuffle between the locals, police and Mohan took place in Humla, said UML Mugu acting chairperson Dharma Bahadur Shahi. Father of the deceased said that he could not visit Humla district headquarters Simikot as threats from police officials not to register the case continue. "If the incident falls beyond jurisdiction of Mugu police, why police team led by Inspector Mitra Bahadur Acharya from DPO Mugu was sent to collect details and the deceased's post-mortem was performed in district hospital Mugu?" he said.
