According to the District Police Office Rupendehi, a 15-year-old boy killed 10-year-old Akash Harijan of Omasatiya Rural Municipality by hitting him on the head with a brick. The boy, who did not return home from school on March 17, was found dead on March 19.
According to Hem Kumar Thapa, SP of District Police Office Rupandehi, the 15-year-old boy killed Akash, who was in grade 3 of Saktihan Secondary School, when he refused to give Rs 400 which he got as a scholarship from the school. According to SP Thapa, police suspected that he might have killed Akash with his father's help, therefore, police arrested both of them and started the investigation.
