Police arrested Dipendra Chaurasia (22) of Kalikamai Rural Municipality-3 Hairharpurbirta on 1 May 2020 on the charge of raping a 14-year-old girl. The family of the girl have filed a rape case against him at the District Police Office, Parsa.
Chaurasia allegedly raped the girl on 1 May and the locals caught and handed him over to the Area Police Office. They had beaten him before taking him to the police.
They staged demonstrations after police arrested Chaurasia. On 2 May, Chaurasia was brought to District Police Office. During the investigation, Chaurasia denied the charges against him but the health checkup of the girl proved him guilty, informed the spokesperson of the police, DSP Birendra Shahi.
Those men who had beaten Chaurasia are under the custody of District Police Office.
