At around 12 last night, an unidentified group set fire to pipes in the office premises of Chharchhare Drinking Water of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-17 by sprinkling petrol.
Pipes worth at least Rs 600,000 were destroyed in the fire, said Shankar Nepali, Secretary of the Chharchhare Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers Association. Police are trying to establish the motive behind the arson and are looking for the perpetrators.
