Agitated residents of GorkhaMunicipality-12 and Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-1 obstructed the burial of a COVID-19 patient who breathed his last at Gorkha Hospital. The locals protest against the authority to withdraw their decision to bury the body. They said the body should not be buried in their area as it would increase the risk of transmission.
Security personnel deployed in the area fired 4 cells of tear gas in air to control locals.
A Nepal Army team managed to take the body to the burial ground after the security personnel dispersed the demonstrators.
