A complaint was lodged at District Police Office Humla on July 8 against local youths who reportedly assaulted workers and contractor for a road expansion project at Kharpu-Simkot section of Karnali corridor in Simkot Rural Municipality-5. Around 20 locals youths pelted stones at workers including dozer operator, 21-year-old Rajesh Chepang, 23-year-old Site in-charge Bimal Mahatara and 28-year-old contractor Nara Bahadur Bhandari of the same place. The group attacked them for starting work in the project whose DPR (Detailed Project Report) was missing. After the complaint was filed on the same day Chief District Officer Chiranjivi Giri, DSP, Chairman Padam Bahadur Lama, and other stakeholders had a discussion to resolve this case but the discussion ended inconclusively.
