Twenty five health workers arrested in Parsa

On July 30, twenty-five health workers from Birgunj Municipal Corporation were arrested for failing to come to work for the prevention and control of coronavirus (COVID 19) infection in Parsa.

The metropolitan office had sent the list of 30 employees. Among them,4 are public health investigators, 11 are senior health officer (sixth), 6 are health assistants, 5 are senior health officer and 4 are ANM. According to Parsa Superintendent of Police Ganga Pant, that police arrested the employees after the administration ordered the police to arrest the employees who are not working at the time of the epidemic. Police are searching for the other five employees.

Doctor Uday Narayan Singh from Narayani Hospital said that when employees were contacted from the hospital, no one gave a positive answer then they were caught.

Assistant Chief District Officer Lalit Kumar Basnet said that instructions have been given accordingly as per the order of the senior authority to take control of the employees who do not work during the disaster. There was a complaint that the corporation is not ready to work even though it had asked for staff.
