Agitated workers from different areas after being fired from jobs and cutting down service facilities under the pretext of lockdown staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala with a protest rally on August 2 in collaboration with 6 Trade Union Federations demanding to repeal anti-labour agreements and laws, and guarantee employment.
Federation of Nepal Socialist Trade Union, All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union Federation, Revolutionary Trade Union Federation, Progressive Nepal Independent Trade Union Federation, Nepal Trade Union Federation, and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions jointly staged a rally from Maitighar to Baneshwor. Demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans and accused the current government of being anti-labourers.
