20-year-old woman Bishnu Lama of Birgunj Metropolitan City Ward-2 died on August 8 around 2:00 am after various hospitals of Birgunj refused treatment and admitting her.
According to the Chairman of the Consumer Interest Protection Forum of Birgunj Metropolitan Committee, Ajit Bhujel, who is also deceased's neighbor said that Advance hospital of Birgunj, Terai Hospital, Bhavani Hospital, Bayodha Hospital, and National Medical College Teaching Hospital refused to admit Lama, who was suffering from mild fever since August 5 and respiratory problem since August 7.
Later she advised to be taken to Birgunj Health Care Hospital by Narayani Hospital but they also refused to admit her saying that they would treat only those who had confirmed COVID infected.
Finally, she was taken to Gandak COVID Hospital but declared dead on August 8 at 2:12 am. Her swab is collected for Coronavirus test.
