On July 26, 25-year-old Abdul Rahman Ansari, 23-year-old Kalaam Ansari and 22-year-old Bhola alias Arwaaz Ansari assaulted 34-year-old Jayanab Khatun of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolis-9, Rampur East Tole over a land related dispute and looted goods. The accused dragged the victim from the door to the street and assaulted her severely. The victim was taken to Birgunj-based National Medical College and Teaching Hospital for further treatment. According to family members, Jayanab sustained injuries to her head and other parts of her body. She has returned home after spending two weeks in the hospital. The victim party complained to the police but the police refused to register a complaint against the accused due to their political influence.
Superintendent of Police Krishna Prasad Pangeni of District Police Office, Bara said that the allegation that the police rejected to take any complaint is not true. The police are investigating and as both sides are equally guilty, the police, are urging to find a solution to the problem through discussion.
