The Nepal Students Union (NSU), a student organization affiliated to the Nepali Congress (BP), padlocked the office of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Baber Mahal on Thursday.
The organization objected to the government repeatedly raising the price of petroleum products by detaining citizens at home, citing the Coronavirus epidemic.
The student union said that they padlocked the office of the corporation due to the increase in the price of petroleum products. Tankers transporting petroleum products have also been urged not to transport petroleum products unless they are exempted from taxes other than value-added tax. The Union warned to take action if the Petrol Pumps are opened or transported petroleum products ignoring their demands.
