Police arrested a Rajiv Sunuwar, district committee member of Sindhuli of the Biplov Maoist from Bouddha, Kathmandu on the charge of abduction of Narayan Bhandari, the headmaster of Bhimsen lower secondary school in Tinpatan rural municipality of Sindhuli.
According to police, Prof. Bhandari was abducted by a group of about a dozen rebels from Biplov Maoist on August 29 while preparations were being made for the distribution of scholarships. He was set free from the abduction by the villagers from the forest of Mahabhir.
Rajiv and nine others involved in the abduction were arrested. Police said that they are investigating the group on other charges of abduction and explosives cases.
