Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), a sister wing of Nepali congress padlocked Mahendra Multiple Campus, Dharan, over a decision made by campus to take 50 per cent fee from students for conducting online class during lockdown period. Through a press release on Sunday, the campus unit of NSU also demanded to withdraw the decision of taking 50 per cent fees from semester students.
A week ago, Tribhuvan University DEAN office has circulated a letter to all of its constituent and affiliated campuses to charge 50 per cent fee from students studying in the semester system through online classes during the lockdown period.
According to the same circular, the campus administration had organized a discussion with student unions on Thursday and Friday. After holding discussions with the student organizations, the administration had published a notice to students for paying 50 per cent fees in lockdown period. However, the NSU had boycotted the discussion program organized by the campus administration.
