Province 1, Morang, Katahari
The local representatives and the public of Katahari Municipality, Morang padlocked the fruit and vegetable wholesale market on Tuesday morning.
More than three dozen locals, Mayor Ram Kumar Kamat, Nepali Congress leader Bhaktinath Majhi, Katahari-1 Ward Chairman Kapur Lal Majhi and building construction consumer committee chairman Harinarayan Majhi padlocked the administrative building main gate of the market.
The locals and the people’s representatives have accused that the building was brought into the operation by bypassing the local stakeholders and the electricity has been misused by installing additional fans. The locals also alleged that though the administrative building of the market has been constructed for the operation of the office, the state government had used it for the storage of imported potatoes, onions and garlic.
