Doctor's Associations and the family of senior Orthopaedic Doctor Gyaneshwor Prasad Singh pad-locked the contact office of Universal College of Medical Sciences, Kamaladi demanding compensation to the family. The deaseased was the then head of the Department of Orthopedics of Universal College of Medical Sciences in Bhairahawa, who died due to negligence of a fellow doctor while removing a bone stuck in his neck in August last year.
According to Dr. Singh's son Prajwal Singh said that the in-charge of the office, Raju basnet refused to talk on Tuesday and Wednesday thus they are forced to pad-lock the office. The pad-lock was carried out by YDA, ANNFSU and Madhesi Medical Association.
Dr. Singh died on January 16. After that, the deceased wife Bina Singh lodged a complaint in the Nepal Medical Council seeking action against the doctor involved in the treatment and compensation for the family. But the director of the hospital Khuma Aryal said that the hospital is unable to compensate the deceased family.
