Janakpurdham, 6th October: The Youth Alliance Against Rape (YAAR) along with dozens of youths staged a protest in front of the District Police Office, Dhanusha, demanding the police administration to take action against the rapists as the number of rape cases is increasing day by day in the country. The protest started from Janak Chowk in Janakpur and turned into a corner assembly in front of the District Police Office through Ram Chowk and Bhairav Chowk.
In Dhanushadham Ward No. 4., the police did not arrest the accused even though two persons from the same village repeatedly raped a girl. It is also reported that police has been reluctant to register the complaint of the rape case and even if registered, they are reluctant to arrest the perpetrators.
Protestors accused the government of its failure to maintain peace and security as the rapists are roaming openly which has created an atmosphere of fear among the girls.
