Sanjay Singhal of Biratnagar has been beaten by Ronal Kandel of Biratnagar-11, Pichara and his group. Singhal has alleged that he was abducted and taken hostage on Thursday. He said on Facebook that he was abducted and beaten. Based on Singhal's Facebook status, the police have taken Ronal under control and started the investigation.
Police arrested Kandel on Sunday. However, he was released on bail the same evening after being told that he had health problems.
According to police, Sanjay on Friday morning accused Ronal of forcibly taking a check for Rs 800,000 from him. He said that he was held hostage at Shrikrishna Party Palace on Thursday and beaten at night and also on Friday morning.
According to Santosh Khadka, SP of District Police Office, Morang, the police have launched an investigation after finding they were betting on the cricket Indian Premium League(IPL) match. On last week police have arrested three on the charge of online gambling in a cricket match.
