Young women stage rally against increasing rape and violent incidents among women in Hetauda

Young women gathered in Hetauda of Makawanpur district to protest against rape and violence against women. Around 40 young women and girls marched at Buddha Chowk in the main street of Hetauda and more than 100 people attended the rally and demonstration. 

Through the rally, they expressed the women are compelled to be oppressed because of the repressive country and said that strict laws should be brought for punishment for the rapists if could not be hanged.

They carried placards and chanted the slogans in the style of songs, wearing black t-shirts, black pants and black cloth to symbolize their protest. In the placards, there were anti-rape and anti-governmental slogans such as, 'I want to survive, save me', 'What kind of law, what kind of government?’, "Everyone who does not speak out against violence against women and rape will be treated like a rapist”, “What’s wrong, the length of my dress or your mentality”, “Government show interest to protect us”, "Is it my turn to endure this atrocity now?", “I will not endure this atrocity now, I will speak now, I will not remain silent”, “It is time for every Nepali woman to protect herself” and “ Exclude rape and violence from society".
