Victim Complains of Police Inaction in Polygamy Case

Salyan/May 30 A woman has complained that no action has been taken though she registered her complaint of polygamy a month ago. Dhani Bhandari, 37, had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on April 28 accusng her husband Dambar Bhandari, 35, of Lakshmipur VDC-2 of marrying another woman. Dambar married Yama Wali, 22, of same place on April 14. Dhani accused police of not taking any action with an intention to reach settlement in the case. "Police has not arrested Yama though she has gone to the DPO time and again," she said, adding that police accused her of instigating Dambar for second marriage. The victim has two sons and one daughter. Meanwhile, DSP Arun Kumar Shah said that the case would be taken forward on Sunday through the office of district government attorney. He said that the delay in the case was due to efforts to call both the accused at the DPO.
