Laxman Acharya (Manav), a member of the District Committee Secretariat of the All Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU) affiliated to NCP (Nepal Communist Party) and Kohalpur Municipality Coordinator was attacked with a khukuri on head on December 2 by an unidentified group in Nepalgunj.

The motive behind the attack has not yet been established. He is in a stable condition after sustaining head injuries from the attack. Popular among the youth, he had been posting comments on the current political developments.
