Locals have blocked the road connecting Shanishchare and Khudunawari in Jhapa after the construction company (Kanchenjunga-Sherpa-Kanchenjunga JV) left the work of blacktopping unfinished stalled due to non-disbursement of the budget despite the agreement to complete the road construction in June 2020. The dust-affected locals concerned for the impact of this situation on their health have blocked the road by placing beds, bamboo and tires on the road. 

Locals have expressed grief over the negligence of the contractor and furious at the local government for not constructing the road on time. The road connecting Ilam through Sukhani Park has been muddy in the rainy season due to which passengers and locals have been suffering for years.
