KATHMANDU, Feb 2: The third phase of civil protests against ‘regression’ concluded on Tuesday with civil society activists paying tributes to martyrs duo Gangalal Shrestha and Dashrath Chand.
Civil right activists staged a demonstration at Shova Bhagawati of Kathmandu where Shrestha and Chand were executed by the Rana rulers during their pro-democracy movement.
On the occasion, the theatre artists from Shilpee Theatre performed a play entitled ‘Janata Jagepachhi (when the people get awakened)’.
The speakers of the program said that regressive moves of all types should end.
The activists have been holding a series of protest demonstrations against the dissolution of the 275-member House of Representatives (HoR) by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on December 20.
