The Valley Road Expansion Victims Struggle Committee staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala demanding compensation to the victims affected by the ongoing road expansion in Kathmandu Valley.
Police had arrested eight activists on February 24 after they demolished a bar set up at the land where Kathmandu Metropolitan City has proposed to build an information centre. The Supreme Court had issued an order in 2017 not to proceed with any work on the land. For a long time, the activists were protesting against the construction of the information centre.
