Hundreds of local Nepalis protested against the highhandedness of Indian security personnel against Nepali citizens. A female SSB security guard mistreated a Nepali woman on the border of Siddharthnagar-1 on March 3. 39-year-old Hira Ale Gupta of Belahiya was assaulted at the border while she was going to Sunauli Bazaar with her mother to buy goods. But seeing the crowd in the area, she tried to enter through another way in the checkpoint which incited dispute between the SSB and Gupta.
A discussion about to be held between two countries' security forces at the border was cancelled when an Indian national was hit by a stone hurled by an unidentified person. According to police, the checkpoint is in operation after an agreement was reached on the condition of taking action.
