July 23, District Police has made public the arrested Kirant Janbadi Workers Party deputy military commander and Khotang district in-charge, Manindra Rai aka Paribartan, 33 Diktel Municipality-4 on July 23. He is charged under Arms and Ammunition Act 2019 (1963) for his alleged involvement in attack in a police station, robbery of weapon and extortion. He was arrested by a special police bureau Biratnagar team led by DSP Raj Kumar Baidawar in Biratnagar on July 21. Earlier, he was sentenced by the District Administration Office on January 24 to five years in jail since the day of his arrest. Other KJWP cadres Bhupendra Rai, Krishna Pariyar, Ambar Lingden, Meena Khumbu, Rabin Rai and Binesh Rai who were slapped same sentence remain absconding.
