Police arrested two persons, on August 12, on the charge of assault and extorting money from a local claiming themselves as police. Among the arrested are Bikas Upreti, 40, of Kankai Municipality-7 and Tika Khatri, 32, of Birtamod Municipality-3.
Upreti and Khatri went to the house of the Nayansari Rajbasni of Birtamod-5 on July 26 said that they are the plain-clothed police, demanded 20,000 rupees accusing Rajbasni's son as a drug dealer and threatened them to file a case. They also took Rs 1,100 from Rajbanshi and said that he would come back later to collect the money. They called out the son Vishal Rajbanshi, 25, and beat him and other persons with the belt.
