Locals blocked the east-west highway after a 16-year-old girl, missing for three days, was found dead in Lalbandi Municipality-17, Raniganj. As the highway is blocked, even long and short distance vehicles are stranded on the road. They protested by burning tires in front of the Area Police Office at Lalbandi Municipality.

Priyanka Bhujel, a 16-year-old daughter of Rajan Bhujel of Dandatol  Raniganj in Labandi Municipality-17  was found dead on August 17. The body of the girl was found in Kalinjor River at Lalbandi Municipality-6, about three kilometres north of the house. The family had informed the police on August 16 after the girl went missing on the night of August 15. The locals had informed the police after the body of the girl was recovered.
