Police have arrested 20-year-old Nawaraj Neupane of Kalika Rural Municipality-3 Dharapani, who is accused of raping two girls aged 14 and 15 years old. Police arrested Neupane from his home on September 1. Police had earlier arrested another accused in the crime, 24-year-old Santosh Lamichhane from his home on July 31.
Family members of the girls had filed a missing complaint at Area Police Office Kalika on July 17 after they went out of contact from July 16. During search operation police rescued the two girls from company of Lamichhane from Gosaikunda-6 while he was taking them to Kerung luring them with promise of job.
The victims revealed that Lamichhane and Neupane raped them by holding them hostage at Lamichhane's home. The victim's family filed a complaint at District Police Office Rasuwa against the duo on August 21. They underwent a medical examination on the same day at Rasuwa District hospital.
DSP Devendra Pande of DPO Rasuwa stated that police are investigating both Neupane and Lamichhane on the charge of raping the girls by holding them hostage.
