Locals obstructed the work of Hydro Power Puvakhola II under construction in Puvakhola of Ilam. The locals blocked the excavator being used by the Hydro Power after the road used by the Hydro Power in Ilam Municipality-1 deteriorated while made the mobility of the vehicles difficult.

According to local Prem Khanal, they were forced to take the step as the road was not repaired even after their repeated requests. There have been various controversies since Hydro Power started its work. The locals had obstructed the work of Hydro Power by agitating for a long time to get compensation for their land. According to the locals, the drinking water of the locals and the water going to the paddy fields have been obstructed due to the work done by Hydro Power.
