News Three Including One Indian in Custody on Charge of Girl Trafficking

Tanahun, Balika bech bikhan ko aroopp ma ek bharatiya sahit 3 jana hirasat ma. July 30, Police have arrested three including an Indian citizen on charge of girl trafficking. Sudan Paswan, of Motihari district of India, his wife Bishnu Sunar, originally hailing from Jamune VDC and Sangita Pariyar, 21, of Jamune VDC and currently living in Byas Municipality-11 were accused of trafficking girls, aged between 15 to 18 from in and around the municipality. They were arrested on July 22 and since then, are placed in police custody. Fourth accused remains absconding. The victims were taken to Motihari on July 12, 2013 and December 22, 2013 in the pretext of dancing for an orchestra. The girls told police that they were made to dance during the day while in the night, they were forced into prostitution. According to the SI Bhawani Prasad Dhamala of District Police Office, Tanahun, the girls managed to escape that place and contacted APF Border Security Office in Bara on July 20. They were put into link with Maiti Nepal by the APF and arrived in Damauli on July 22 with the help of Maiti Nepal. They filed a complaint against the accused soon after they reached Damauli. The accused were arrested soon after the filing of the complaint. The girls have returned to their families. SI Dhamala said that the accused have been charged under the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act 2064.
