Police arrested a truck's driver and his co-driver on September 14 on the charge of raping a minor girl inside the truck. The arrested are identified as 32-year-old Harka Bahadur Bishwakarma of Haldibari Rural Municipality-5 and 18-year-old Nidip Dhimal of Morang Urlabari Municipality-1.
The victim girl was waiting for a vehicle to go east on the road at Shreejananagar in Bhaktapur on September 11. They offered her a lift in their truck. According to police, the driver and his co-driver raped her in front of a common petrol pump at Banepa 12 in Kavrepalanchok. After the rape, they left the girl at the same place and went east.
Police arrested the accused from Dhulikhel Chowk on the basis of information that a hired truck (plate number: Province 2-03-001 Kha 1485) was coming from Morang to Kathmandu via BP Highway. Police claimed that their involvement was confirmed during the preliminary investigation.
