Krishna Magar, 33, of Khanikhola Rural Municipality Ward No. 7, and Chiring Tamang, 35, of Lishankhupakhar Rural Municipality Ward No. 7, are among those arrested. Two toes were discovered buried in the front yard of Netra Prasad's house, according to locals. The body was later identified as Netra Prasad Dahal after an investigation.

Netra Prasad, according to the police, was also a flood and landslide victim in Sindhupalchowk. His other house was damaged by the flood. He gave the contract for the reconstruction of his house to Krishna and Chiring, and they agreed to begin construction on October 6. Police stated that they intended to rob Netra Prasad after he refused to pay before the construction began. So, on October 5, they went to Netra's house, where Krishna hit Netra Prasad over the head with a spade. They dug a hole in the front yard of the house and buried him after the murder.
